Tessitura Database Manager

Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create and audiences to experience epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City.

TESSITURA DATABASE MANAGER:
The Tessitura Database Manager serves as the primary lead on the Tessitura application for the Armory as a whole. Supporting small but energetic teams, this position provides essential support for a wide variety of Tessitura needs. With the Armory’s growth and development as a new cultural institution in New York, this position provides the opportunity to develop new systems, procedures and training protocols to shepherd the organization’s use of the database.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as Tessitura expert and primary point of contact for the Armory.
• Manage Tessitura application and database for a 30+ user implementation across all business units, including development, box office, marketing, finance, and education.
• Develop and maintain suite of custom SSRS and InfoMaker reports and acknowledgements for development, finance, and box office.
• Manage and delegate scheduled and ad-hoc data requests, including executive reporting, membership mailings, segmented marketing, event invitations, and ticket buyer communications.
• Train users. Identify and nurture core of power users.
• Create, standardize, and document business processes for 30+ user implementation. Primary emphasis is on increasing engagement with Tessitura among fundraisers thus enabling the Armory to raise funds and track efforts in an organized and efficient manner.
• Plan and implement application upgrades of Tessitura in coordination with all departments.
• Troubleshoot, manage ticket creation, escalation and resolution with RAMP.
• Analyze and evaluate needs of constituent users, solicit enhancements for system functionality and reporting. Formulate and define scope, objectives, and priorities of system, projects, workflow, and allocation of resources. Develop and implement system changes and upgrades.
• Manages front-of-house point of sale hardware, including ticketing terminals.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience with Tessitura
• Experience with TNEW and NScan a plus
• Technical skills in SSRS and SQL Server required. Must be able to demonstrate SQL proficiency
• Proven experience in using reporting tools including Microsoft SSRS and Excel
• Ability to perform data analysis for departmental and executive requests
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical users
• Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively with various teams
• Ability to train users
• Prior experience working with arts administration or museum is a plus
