About Philip Glass
A prolific composer of operas, symphonies, concertos, and soundtracks, and a major collaborator with artists ranging from Twyla Tharp to Allen Ginsberg, Woody Allen to David Bowie, and Leonard Cohen to Godfrey Reggio, Philip Glass has had an extraordinary and unprecedented impact upon the musical and intellectual life of his times.

Celebrating his 75th birthday, Glass is the co-curator and featured artist for the Armory’s 2012 Tune-In Music Festival, which will include his iconic work, Music in Twelve Parts, an evening with longtime friend Patti Smith, a world premiere commission with Hal Willner, and many special guests, illustrating how a composer’s life informs the artistic lives of others.
